The Writer’s responsibility is to write all assigned show content by either the Show Runner (EP or Supervising Producer) or the Head Writer (if applicable). Content may include studio wraparounds for hosts, interview questions for guests, field packages on trends / music, and posted segments on emerging news stories.

Writers must keep up on all breaking pop culture news and foresee trends and emerging stories and know how to put a unique, creative spin on them that separates fuse from other network’s covering the same stories.

The writer must have an understanding of writing for music, television and hosts. They should know how to work in multiple television formats (from field to studio) and be comfortable in a fast paced, live show environment.

Most importantly, the Writer must know how to creatively execute the tone and voice for the program set forth by Show Runner or Head Writer. They should also regularly contribute new and unique segment ideas for the program to help the development of the format.

The ideal candidate must know how to work in a live, urgent environment and be able to make decisions quickly and write under pressure. All written content should be done well, delivered to the producers and studio in a timely manner.

Job Qualifications:
Ideal candidate must have 5+ years Writing. Experience working within a Live broadcast is a must. Must have experience writing for Hosts, pop culture and in multiple TV formats.
