JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : Yaw System Specialist

REPORTS TO : Special Projects Lead Tech

DEPARTMENT : Special Projects

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DATE : 7-31-2013

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine maintenance and warranty repairs on wind turbines and components

Conduct proactive programs (Yaw System) to prevent or limit future failures and optimize turbine efficiency

Assist in developing, communicating and implementing work plans

Liaise with representatives from other functional groups as required to address technical issues

Produce reports and otherwise document work

Comply with all quality and safety policies

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Strong attention to quality and detail, problem solving, organization, and communication skills

Minimum two years mechanical and electrical trade experience including troubleshooting

Understand and comply with complex work instructions, procedures and diagrams

Maintain productive working relationships with all Suzlon site teams and customer representatives

Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes

Effective independent problem solving skills

Completion of assigned duties with limited supervision

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and management reporting tools

Ability to climb towers up to 285 feet and to work in all weather conditions, work in confined spaces,

handle up to 100 pounds, wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and work all shifts.

Wind energy industry experience preferred

Valid Driver’s License

Ability to travel overnight to domestic and international locations approximately 80% of each week/
