As our Youth Care Worker, you will be interacting with an at-risk juvenile population in our Intervention & Assessment Programs which provide temporary placement until a more permanent placement is found. As our Youth Care Worker, you will be responsible for monitoring/teaching to behaviors, transporting youth , teaching youth social, academic, independent living skills, and implementing the Boys Town Model. The guidance and feedback to the youth will involve day-to-day functions such as: personal hygiene, behavioral issues, and interaction with their peers. You will be trained on how to provide feedback utilizing a cognitive/behavioral based program that centers on a motivation (point) system and focuses on modifying the children’s behavior by teaching skills to help them be successful and productive citizens.
To be considered for this unique opportunity you will need:
To be 21 years of age or older
High School diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Strong desire and ability to work with youth
Willingness to work flexible hours, which will include nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to pass a medical examination and a thorough background check and reference verification procedure in order to determine one’s fitness to satisfactorily and safely care for youth
Attend two weeks paid training in Omaha , Nebraska
