Youth Program Coordinator is needed to work with eligible youth to promote DHS programs and opportunities. Incumbent is responsible for making connections with youth, as well as helping spread awareness about the Jim Casey Youth Opportunity Initiative-Opportunity Passport and Steel City Safe.. Applicants with prior experience with the foster care system are strongly preferred. Responsibilities will include:

* Recruiting youth involved with DHS Independent Living programs and informing them about opportunities through DHS and the Jim Casey Initiative Opportunity Passport and Steel City Safe.
*Supporting youth participants in these new initiatives and keeping them engaged.
*Serving as a liaison between youth, DHS staff and provider staff regarding participation and progress.
*Maintaining regular contact with youth (face to face, electronic, via social media) to check progress and provide assistance.
*Maintaining Facebook page and other social media outlets to support the new initiatives.
*Working with community partners who offer services for youth.
*Coordinating and assisting participants in completing surveys required by the Jim Casey Initiative.
*Assisting in coordinating the financial education training and enrollment.
*Providing monthly reports and informing partners about youth progress in the program.
*Supporting user engagement to increase utilization of the application for the Steel City Safe program.
*Updating the Steel City Safe page with regular blogs about community resources and other interesting initiatives.
*Helping youth to trouble shoot problems with Steel City Safe application and educating them on new features.
*Working with Steel City Safe development team to report bugs and suggest new features.

Bachelor’s degree, plus two years of full time employment or internship experience in a related field. Incumbent will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and database management). Additionally a demonstrated ability to work well in teams and lead others, as well as the ability to navigate social media sites are important.
