Concord is a seniorlevel IT consulting firm providing business value and technology solutions to our national client base Through proven methodologies deep expertise and a seasoned team of nationwide consultants we deliver &lsquoworld class’ solutions centered on the following practices bull Enterprise and Integration Architecture bull Data Architecture Warehousing and Management bull Center of Excellence Development Quality Assurance Testing Solutions bull Security and Compliance bull Infrastructure and Capacity Management bull Process and Program Management Concord will work with consultants on a W2 basis or a CorptoCorp basis We have a host of benefits that can be available for W2 consultants We are currently recruiting for the following position for our direct client Technical Engineer Senior Job Summary Install maintain and provide 24x7 system support for IBM mainframe system software and hardware with the primary focus on zOS Technical Engineer Senior role will analyze and evaluate customer requirements characterized by technical and analytical requirements Strong collaboration with Systems Programmers Security Administrators Capacity Planning Monitoring Service Desk Scheduling and Network Administrators when designing and implementing computer systems utilizing state of the art concepts techniques and languages Responsible for planning developing testing and documenting computer systems and follow up to ensure success of the mainframe zOS environment Key Accountabilities 1 Manage the z10 sysplex infrastructure 2 Install and maintain zOS 3 Apply yearly zOS upgrade and monthly zOS maintenance 4 Install and maintain various ISV products from EMC CA and others 5 Maintain IO configurations 6 Manage hardware upgrades and service 7 Maintain disaster recovery warm site environment Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science Mathematics or related field and 3 years of experience to include leading zOS activities within a sysplex environment and maintaining IO configurations or 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree 1 Leading zOS activities within a sysplex environment 2 Maintaining IO configurations 3 Performing zOS network connectivity such as VSAM andor TCIPIP 4 Collaborating effectively within the team and all levels of IT Preferred Qualifications 1 A basic to intermediate understanding of CICS IMS andor DB2 would be beneficial 2 Demonstrated ability to work independently 3 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate to all levels of the IT organization and correctly identify the needs of mainframe customers
