This position is assigned to the Department of Planning and Community Development, Office of Buildings to interpret and enforce the City of Atlanta zoning regulations.
Examples Of Essential Duties:
Supervises field personnel involved in enforcement activities; attends Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) and other meetings; prepares inspection, monthly, and other reports; answers questions, provides information, and otherwise provides assistance to contractors, engineers, the general public, and others as necessary; conducts plan reviews to ensure compliance and provides plan approval; prepares referral certificates and directs the preparation of zoning verification letters, non-conforming use certification and other responses to inquires; verifies streets and assigns addresses; approves business licenses; etc.
Persons applying must have a high school diploma (or GED) and with three (3) years of experience in zoning Inspections; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
This position requires a valid Georgia driver's license (verifiable at the time of application). Licenses must remain valid while employed in this job. Must be eligible to become a Special Police Officer.
