The Accounting Manager will manage the US General Ledger & Accounts Receivable teams, systems & processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Coordinate and manage balance sheet reconciliations for the Americas organization
· Create, monitor and manage a month end close task list to ensure timely completion of month end deliverables
· Direct responsibility over intercompany accounting (w/parent company), fixed asset accounting (non-gaming), cash at bank, various loan & accrued Interest accounts, accounts receivable sub-ledger and various other accounts as required (e .g. non-current AR, prepaid insurance, etc.)
· Prepare and record various accruals to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounting periods
· Cash management including coordinating inputs for forecasting cash requirements, initiating & approving bank transfers and review & approval of related accounting entries
· Provide necessary reconciliations, schedules and commentary to support periodic financial statement audits
· Ensure the policies are followed and policies and processes are updated as well as identifying areas for improvements
· Ensure positive behaviors are followed and the teams are focused on those behaviors and acting as a team
· Ensure in- house training is undertaken in Shared Services, with a particular focus on driving process excellence and acting as an effective team
· Manage, develop and set KPOs for the General Ledger & Accounts Receivable Teams
· Migrate identified tasks into a shared services environment such that first draft accounts are produced according to agreed timetable
· Identify business improvement opportunities within shared services, interacting, implementing and supporting the change.
· Continuously monitor initiatives and seek feedback on improvements
· Measure and validate adherence to policies within shared services
· Clear & open communication with key business partners both internal and external to the organization
· Provide a best practice & world-class shared service model to the organization, including positive behaviors and benchmarking to other organization’s shared services
· Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Shared Services to implement the Group's strategy and key objectives relevant to Shared Services

Job Requirements:

· Tertiary qualifications in finance or related discipline & and evidence of a sound understanding of accounting relevant to shared services
· CPA qualifications preferred
· Proven track record within a complex and fast paced environment with strong technical skills
· Proven track record with change management and process improvement
· Knowledge of importance of process and sound commercial practice
· High level of initiative
· Strong written, verbal, communication and influencing skills
· Organized, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined
· Strong interpersonal skills including effective leadership through demonstrating positive behaviors and managing and coaching a team
