ASIC Design Engineer: Design and implement the industry's leading Graphics, Video / Media & Communications Processors. Bring-up and test NVIDIA's graphics chips using knowledge of graphics architecture, laboratory methodologies, experimentation and measurement techniques. Characterize the performance and power to define the chip in the 4-6 months before release. Work alongside the chip and board designers to verify new NVIDIA hardware meets design objectives and is ready for mass production. Ensure hardware designs meet specification and quality standards. Engage in PCI Express. Participate in the design reviews of new products to understand the product before prototypes are built and provide feedback to chip and board designers. Communicate what is found in the lab to influence future designs. Test and prove hypotheses in the lab to understand product or design problems, and work with various organizations within NVIDIA to reach resolution through innovative solutions.
Employer requires Bachelor of Science Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Knowledge of or experience in Lab tool skills including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators; Testing methodologies for quality parts; Circuit Analysis and design; PCB layout and schematic design; Timing analysis of signals of different protocols; Electrical debugging skills; Computer architecture, digital design, and device physics; C/C++, Perl, Windows, and Linux; BIOS, drivers; Digital display interfaces & high speed memory interfaces.
