Primary Purpose of the position:
Work with the Director of Business Partnerships to steward relationships with the Food Bank’s existing corporate supporters and develop new corporate partnerships to generate financial support, sponsorships, virtual food drives, volunteers and in-kind donations of goods and services. Create corporate funding and sponsorship opportunities that address the full range of the Food Bank’s programmatic and operational needs and manage citywide campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of strategies for reaching corporate funding goals, including prospecting new sources and managing the ongoing cultivation and engagement of existing corporate supporters;
  • Development and execution of the Food Bank’s citywide fall campaign including Check Out Hunger initiative;
  • Identification of new opportunities and effective prospecting development for increased corporate engagement with the Food Bank; maintain an in-depth corporate database via Raiser’s Edge;
  • Research and develop database of corporations having employee matching gifts programs and initiate programs to promote the Food Bank to employees;
  • Liaison with Feeding America on local/regional corporate engagements;
  • Manage all corporate sponsorship deliverables;
  • Respond in a timely and thorough manner to specific requests from corporate supporters and prospects;
  • Prepare high quality, compelling proposals and presentations;
  • Meet regularly with corporate prospects, corporate supporters, and other key links to the business community;
  • Ensure that proper acknowledgements and visibilities are extended to corporate supporters for sponsorship, donations and other contributions;
  • Research and remain current with market place trends in cause marketing and consumer promotions to inform and support corporate partnerships;
  • Work collaboratively with staff members to accomplish goals/objectives of the department;
  • Assist with special and third party events; and perform all other assigned tasks.


  • Min. of 3 to 5 years of corporate development experience, preferably in nonprofit; B.A. or B.S. preferred;
  • Demonstrated track record of corporate fundraising (revenue achievements);
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and follow through;
  • Ability to prepare effective fundraising proposals and to make convincing presentations;
  • Ability to operate with purpose, urgency and accuracy in a fast-paced deadline driven environment;
  • Excellent strategic thinker, team player and goal orientation;
  • High level of optimism, personal responsibility and drive towards exceedingly ambitious goals;
  • Familiarity with corporate giving programs, corporate foundations, and corporate outreach programs;
  • Track record of building strong relationships with various people, the ability to motivate superiors & peers to meet ambitious goals;
  • A flair for thinking creatively outside of the box, particularly as applied to corporate funding opportunities;
  • Experience with prospect research and ability to set up a viable data bank;
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and fundraising software;
  • Experience with or knowledge of social service/hunger issues is a plus.
