What We Are Looking For: Desktop Support Technician (Position ID 10288)

Position Summary:
  • The Desktop Support Technician will work on the Windows 7 Project reporting to the End User Device Team. This group is responsible for delivering Device Management services and Desktop Engineering solutions for the client’s enterprise locations. This contract position will report to the Desktop Support Manager.
  • The Desktop Support Technician will assist in operational support tasks generated from the Windows 7 rollout. A strong candidate is driven by results and has experience providing end-user device support for large projects. A strong candidate will also have a high level understanding of simple networking services such as DHCP, DNS, and AD site definitions and is expected be able to perform support tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to Windows 7 rollout efforts across the enterprise
  • Perform third-level troubleshooting and incident management for Windows 7 migration issues
  • Develop documentation for support and functional teams
  • Identify and resolve trends related to various software issues
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinator
Qualifications:
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 7 Operating Systems (Prior Windows 7 rollout experience is a strong plus)
  • Must have a demonstrated high level understanding of Desktop and Network Engineering technical areas
  • Must have technical understanding of basic network services including DHCP, DNS, and AD Site definitions
  • Must be very organized, able to balance multiple priorities, and driven by accomplishments
Desired Previous Experience:
  • Experience with Windows 7 or other Operating System upgrades is a strong plus
  • Experience with DHCP/DNS administration is a plus
