Director of Human Resources

This position will provide hands-on HR support in a development-focused, entrepreneurial environment. The individual will possess broad HR functional knowledge and will work with managers and associates regarding HR policy, staffing, performance management, compensation and benefits planning, employee relations, and training. As part of a small and dynamic work environment, the individual will develop, execute and support a wide range of HR.


  • Function as internal HR subject matter expert to organization
  • Develop, implement, and support recruitment planning
  • Create and maintain job descriptions and provide expertise on compensation matters using external and internal data
  • Oversee company benefit programs and contracts
  • Provide HR guidance for employee relations issues
  • Partner with managers to drive and monitor the performance management and development process
  • Identify and deliver employee training as needed
  • Maintain HR records for compliance and generate reports or ad hoc data
  • Act as a resource to employees regarding benefits, performance management, and complete range of HR matters
  • Recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in delivery of HR services
  • Champion and support plans to continuously improve employee engagement and retention


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Advanced HR academic and professional training preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience as HR generalist or HR business partner, including organization effectiveness, recruitment, compensation, staff development, employee relations, and supporting and coaching senior-level management
  • Experience in a biopharmaceutical environment preferred
  • Strong consulting and analytical skills and the ability to understand, balance, and articulate both tactical and strategic issues and solutions
  • Persistent, tactful, and persuasive team and project leadership, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Computer proficiency with Windows and Office
