Role Overview:
Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the project maintains appropriate momentum, is headed in the right direction, and delivers the committed scope on the targeted delivery date. The PM moves fluidly from big picture to fine detail level to examine project health and anticipate issues that will have a negative impact on the project. The PM is the enforcer of the Solution Life Cycle (SLC) and ensures that projects are managed in accordance with the SDLC.

Responsibilities include:
Develop and manage project timelines, resources, and budgetary requirements for various size projects in a highly matrixed organization.

Provide project resource and budget projections for program/corporate planning purposes.

Create weekly reports to provide transparency into the status of the project for technology and business stakeholders

Create and execute complex project work plans from design and development to production, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Work closely with individuals in the Product Owner and manager role and Solutions Architect role to make key decisions in steering the project.

Actively manage and minimize the company’s exposure and risk on projects.

Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.

Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones.

Track projects' performance against baseline plan.

Provide information to Program Managers to enable them to monitor the performance of programs.

Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientation.

Collaborate with the business to provide timely updates and visibility into projects

Maintains competitive awareness of the technology and digital industry trends and Tribune’s competitors with a focus on positioning Tribune to succeed

Required Skill Sets / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Previous eCommerce experience

A minimum of 5 years of project related experience on large-scale web site development projects for an established, consumer facing web site

Professional experience collaborating in an Agile (Scrum) environment on large-scale development projects.

Detail-oriented with excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.

Comfortable communicating with and taking input from a variety of people, including executive management.

Ability to review, understand, and challenge technical estimates/timelines

Proficiency with a range of appropriate software tools including but not limited to the MS Office Suite and MS Project.
