The Child Development Center at Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City is currently seeking qualified educators to join our preschool program. Our Child Development Center has been an exciting part of our agency's mission for more that 50 years. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Candidates must be eager to share their talents, knowledge, and experience, with the students and families. We are looking for qualified teachers who are committed to providing extraordinary care and education and have experience planning and delivering developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Job Responsibilities and expectations may include, but not limited to the following:
*Maintain a classroom environment that supports developmentally appropriate learning and reflects an understanding of the developmental needs, interests, and competency of the age group.
*Maintains the health and safety standards; carries out appropriate adaptations for individual children.
*Responsible for implementation of curriculum to include lesson planning, maintaining appropriate documentation of daily events and continuing documentation for assessment as well as using portfolios to document the learning and development of children.
*Effectively and appropriately communicate with parents, children, colleagues, and supervisors.
*Partner with parents to develop goals for children.
*Clearly articulate the Child Development Center's mission, vision, and educational goals.
*Maintain professional integrity and commitment to teaching, working, and understanding young children.
*Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, take direction well and work independently.
*Create and organize special programs for the classroom including family events.
*Maintain a professional demeanor in a variety of situations; reliability and flexibility.
Degree: - BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child & Family Studies, or related field.
Degree: - BS or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or other educational emphasis is preferred.
