Direct and coordinate the activities of the assigned Salesmen and Rental Agents (if applicable) to maximize sales and rental profitability for the designated branch locations.
- Develop sales and marketing strategies to grow volume and improve market share.
- Orchestrate the day to day activities of the Sales organization.
- Play a lead role on large/complicated sales transactions.
- Act as the primary liaison between Sales and Product Support.
- Ensure superior customer satisfaction.
- Manage the profit and loss of the Sales/Rental function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, recommend and implement marketing strategies to increase Sales and Rental volume and improve market share. Keep high level of market intelligence. Maintain awareness of competitor pricing, availability and marketing strategies. Supervise and manage assigned Sales people and Rental Agents (if applicable), by assigning territories and customer lists and providing market leads or intelligence. Provide training and mentoring and see that each Salesman is obtaining goals.
Ensure all transactions are processed properly from a customer and administrative perspective. Play an active role on large and/or complicated Sales and Rental transactions where managerial support is needed. Work with Parts, Service and Corporate Product Support on Product Support driven projects.
Stay on top of Profit and Loss responsibilities by monitoring financial statements and operating metrics to ensure operations are meeting expectations. Direct initiatives to maximize Sales and Rental Gross Margin and identify opportunities to reduce costs while increasing efficiency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree (BS/BA) or equivalent; seven to ten years related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Heavy equipment industry sales experience preferred.
