Job Title: First Assistant Civil Division Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Reports To: Prosecutor

Serves as First Assistant in charge of all civil matters for the County of Cuyahoga; Serves as chief legal counsel to the County Prosecutor on all substantive matters relating to the Civil Division; Manages and directs all civil litigation in which Cuyahoga County has an interest; Manages the ongoing operation of the Civil Division by supervising attorneys who represent and advise Cuyahoga County and its various departments, agencies, boards and commissions; Provides legal advice to County officials, departments, agencies, boards, and commissions on legal matters affecting county government, including compliance, Ohio Ethics Law, labor and employment matters, land acquisitions an sales contract negotiation, and public finance matters; Identifies and resolves problems and needs within and among all civil units; Communicates to the Civil Division the goals and objectives of the County Prosecutor; Provides continuous analysis of the Civil Division to determine if changes, adjustments or improvements are needed in order to meet the goals of the County Prosecutor;

Juris Doctorate; licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio; must have significant experience in public sector law; must possess excellent research and writing skills.
