WHAT'S EXCITING ABOUT THE DIVISION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
The Division of Information Technology is committed to providing quality IT services to students, faculty, staff and departments. We provide e-mail, Web, productivity software, application and infrastructure services and support to the campus community.
The project coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Projects & Planning in the administration of campus-wide IT projects, project/portfolio management software, document storage application, management of project documentation and communication of internal processes and standards. In addition, the project coordinator will assist in managing project management office and providing project administration support to Division of Information Technology.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field; three to five years of work experience in project management capacity for Information Technology projects; experience working in both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; proven project analyst, project coordinator, and/or PMO experience; experience in developing workflows, identifying process steps, documenting procedures, and creating process flows and organization charts in Visio.
Strong familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project or others; proficient knowledge of HTML, web collaboration and content management tools such as SharePoint and Drupal; demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, and sound judgment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; effective presentation skills; effective relationship building and interpersonal skills.
Perform project management activities to include project plans, cost estimates, and gathering requirements; demonstrated capability of providing project support with limited guidance for multiple projects; manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines effectively prioritizing and executing tasks; elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management team, customers, and other departments.
- Strong familiarity with project health reporting, metrics and KPIs
- Project Management certification desirable: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)®
- Strong familiarity with PMI's PMBOK
- Working knowledge of project management software like BrightWork or others
- Working experience in full life cycle implementation of IT projects in an enterprise environment
- Working experience in defining project scope, writing project proposal, business requirement documents and defining the phase deliverables
- Working project coordinator or project analyst experience in a University PMO environment
The incumbent may be on-call outside of the employee's scheduled work hours to assist with project-related support.
This position may be subject to a background check.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$6,250 - $7,083 per month ($75,000 - $85,000 annually)
