The individual will have demonstrated skills and experience as noted in the position description below. We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package for the right individual. This position reports directly to the Sales Manager.

The Inside Technical Sales Representative candidate must have the following skills:

  • Experience in the material handling markets – prefer rigging and overhead lifting knowledge
  • Experience in reading and quoting from a blueprint
  • Experience in reading and interpreting specifications like ASTM, DNV, and others
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Work accurately and with an eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • A minimum of five years prior sales experience - engineering sales background preferred

Key accountabilities for this position include (but not limited to):

  • Accountable for working closely with Estimating, Engineering, Field Sales, Production Management, and Customers to secure new business
  • Accountable for developing sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations
  • Accountable for developing existing accounts by checking customer’s buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features
  • Accountable for accomplishing department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Accountable for participation in new product development, marketing activities, business development
  • Accountable for assessing competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities
