The Northtowns Boys & Girls Club at Bennett Park Montessori Center (School #32) has an IMMEDIATE need for passionate and talented individuals who have experience working with students in grades 5-8.
We are looking for teachers, tutors, teacher assistants and youth development professionals who enjoy working with adolescent students in a school setting.
The club at school 32 offers its members structured academic programming, as well as recreational and enrichment opportunities and we need staff who can support all areas.
Successful candidate must be available 3:15 – 5:45pm, Monday – Friday through June 12th and must be flexible, dynamic and have excellent behavior management skills.
Teachers’ responsibilities will include:
-Supervising groups of about 20 students either in grades 5th & 6th OR 7th & 8th in a classroom for 2 45-minute periods.
-Overseeing and helping students complete homework
-Planning and implementing lessons, activities and project-based learning experiences that connect to school-day curricular needs.
-Maintaining an orderly classroom environment and ensuring positive student behavior.
-Maintaining accurate & timely records relating to attendance and behavior.
Group Leaders’ responsibilities will include:
-Supervising groups of about 20 students in either 5th or 6th OR 7th & 8th grades in various settings.
-Following a rotating, daily schedule and supporting special area staff as needed.
-Overseeing and helping students complete homework.
-Building positive relationships with individual students and facilitating positive group dynamics.
-Maintaining an orderly environment and ensuring positive student behavior.
-Maintaining accurate and timely records relating to attendance & behavior.
Successful candidates MUST be able to pass a background check and furnish an up-to-date physical and TB (tuberculosis) test. Compensation is between $11-16/hr, BOE employees are encouraged to apply and will be compensated at the contracted rate.
