Position Title: Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign Director

Supervised by: VP of Communications and Development

Function: Responsible for development, implementation, and management of the annual Law
Enforcement Torch Run Campaign

Principle Duties:
 As the primary SOWA point of contact for the LETR Campaign, oversee statewide activities associated with the LETR Campaign while building solid relationships with the law enforcement community.
 Develop, implement and manage statewide fundraising events, promotions and conference activities to successfully meet organizational goals and objectives for the LETR Campaign
 Develop, manage and lead volunteer committees in support of position activities and responsibilities.
 Coordination development of collateral materials, mailings, financial procedures for the Campaign.
 Secure participation of athletes, coaches and key volunteers in LETR Campaign fundraising activities. Develop a comprehensive strategic marketing plan to diversify and strength the organization’s revenue foundation to support current program activities and future program growth.
 Establish annual fund raising goals, budgets, and plans for meeting those goals.
 Develop new relationships with companies, foundations, and civic groups; cultivate and steward existing relationships to strengthen them.
 Solicit corporate sponsors for the LETR Campaign, coordinating efforts with other staff and volunteers.
 Develop promotional relationships with media representatives, coordination efforts with other staff.
 Identify and solicit support from individuals for SOWA fundraising activities as directed.
 Identify and solicit support and participation in fundraising activities by civic and service clubs.
 Provide regular status and campaign promotional reports for position activities.
 Co-manage activities associated with SOWA athlete and coach fundraising activities as directed.
 Properly recognize and thank donors, corporate sponsors, volunteers and other appropriate supporters.
 Ensure that all fundraising events; promotions reach budgeted goals and enhance the brand, reputation and visibility of the organization.
 Train, coach and mentor each LETR staff member; build an effective, highly motivated team that collaborates to achieve organization goals.
 Identify and initiate additional revenue sources to ensure the ongoing financial success of the organization.
 Provide support to other department and organization activities and programs as directed.
 Follow and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
 Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
 Bachelor degree in related field preferred.
 Minimum five years’ experience in event planning, fundraising and marketing.
 Excellent communication skills in public speaking and business writing.
 Experience in working with volunteers and donors.
 Excellent organizational skills.
 Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
 Ability to work independently and as a team member.
 Ability to work within a flexible schedule that involves some weekend and evening hours.
