Marketing Assistant for Ed Consulting Firm (Boston, MA)

The District Management Council (DMC) provides school systems with superior strategic insights and tactical solutions to the most pressing challenges facing school system leaders today. In addition to direct consulting, we research and publish on best practices and develop technology solutions to help district leaders implement and sustain reform. Through our consulting, research and technology solutions, we are recognized as thought leaders in national conversations on education reform including the areas of strategic planning and resource allocation, human capital including pay for performance, special education and struggling students, and in stakeholder engagement.

Description of Position

We are looking for a talented Marketing Assistant to provide support to grow our team and ensure the efficient running of DMC's marketing efforts as they relate to membership, events and the overall promotion of DMC and its services. This is an opportunity to join a small team and have a strong impact on marketing and communications at an organization that makes a big difference in K-12 public education across the nation as we work to solve the most pressing challenges facing public school districts today.

The Marketing Team handles all aspects of marketing, event planning, and membership management, including e-mail marketing, SalesForce management, content distribution, collateral production, branding implementation, membership communications, event preparation, event execution, copy writing, design, and production of publications.

The Marketing Assistant would have additional responsibilities fielding questions about technology solutions from clients, managing relationships with these client districts, and providing customer service as needed for inquiries about DMC's membership, technology solutions, or consulting services.

Qualifications & Experience

A successful Marketing Assistant will have a proven ability to provide outstanding, professional customer service by phone and e-mail, superior organizational skills, and strong computer knowledge including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, with experience in basic database applications, Joomla, and SalesForce appreciated. Graphic design experience in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is also a plus.

Additionally, we are seeking candidates who have:

Experience handling direct mailings and email blasts
Experience planning events at hotels or other offsite venues involving client guests, including all promotion, logistics and scheduling
A bachelor's degree
1-2 years in a related role
Experience in a professional and/or technology services environment desired

Solid organizational and communication skills and an ability to collaborate
Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a small team setting
High level of personal performance standards
Detail-oriented perspective and mode of operating
