American Optical Services owns and operates retail eyewear stores, ophthalmology and optometry practices nationwide. We are a fast growing company that is seeking an Optical Lab Technician in our Alpharetta retail office. The Optical Lab Tech will ensure our customers have the best customer experience. The Lab Tech is directly responsible for producing exceptional eyewear for every customer. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with an ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a lot of teamwork and provides a great opportunity to join a growing and successful company. Optical lab background is a plus, however, we will train the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lens surfacing
  • Edging and mounting of lenses
  • Drilling and grooving of lenses
  • Maintenance of lab equipment
  • Maintain proper levels of stock lenses
  • Ensure that all eyewear produced complies with ANSI standards
  • Ensure all web based functions are completed daily, including ordering of custom lenses and parts
  • Coordinate the delivery of eyewear products to customers according to company guidelines. Analyze, solve, and correct any lab related service issues
  • Check status and verify customers when orders are delayed
  • Assist in the sales process and dispensing of eyewear when needed

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years Ophthalmology experience
  • COA or COT certification
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Demonstrates concerns for people‚Äôs problems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Flexible schedule required, including the ability to work weekends and evenings.
