Be an important member of the estimating team by getting propsals to our customers and win bids/projects.
The applicant will be responsible for the following duties prior to the bid date: Check the estimating project calender for new projects coming into the pipeline. Review new projects and determine if project is a good project for MAC to bid/construct. Read and interpret the plans and specification to understand what is required to construct the project. Complete a takeoff of the project's quantities: area, volume and/ or lengths. Break down the work tasks required to construct the project in enough detail to insure an accurate estimate. Determine work tasks that can be performed by MAC and work tasks that need to be performed by a subcontractor. Invite subcontractors to bid on the portions of the project that can't be self performed by MAC. Formulate a cost to construct each work task. Summarize the total cost to construct the project. Add the appropriate profit and submit the proposal within the prescribed time frame.
The applicant will be responsible for the following duties after the bid date: Prepare the preconstruction packet. (Includes: work order, subcontractor lists, emergency contact list and project schedule.) Perform project management during the construction until project closeout. Review job cost performance during construction until project closeout. Look for trends between estimated cost vs. actual construction costs and use the information to prepare future bids.
The applicant will need to be flexible. The above list of duties is not 100% complete. Day to day dutioes will fluctuate based on the estimating department's workload.
Full time year around position.
