Provides appropriate nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit. Identifies problems and uses critical thinking skills to develop solutions. Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel. Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders. Prepares, administers, and records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or compact license required. BLS certification required.
Surgery provides services for infants through geriatrics 24 hours a day. Surgery is a 9-suite department located on the first floor. Services for infants less than one year old are: ENT, general surgery (including, but not limited to, hernias, masses, skin lesions, laparotomy, and endoscopy), orthopedic, plastic, urology, ophthalmology (including, but limited to, muscle resection, and lacrimal duct probes), neurosurgery, and organ retrieval. Services for children 1 to 8 years old are: ENT, general (including, but not limited to, hernias, masses, skin lesions, laparotomy, and laparoscopy), orthopedic, plastic, urology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and organ retrieval. Services for children over 8 years old through adolescent and adult through geriatric are: ENT, neurosurgery, orthopedic, general surgery, laparoscopy, endoscopy, GYN, urology, plastic, vascular, ophthalmology, open heart, thoracic, and organ retrieval. Services are provided for An 18 bed emergency department. Major trauma and burns are stabilized and transferred to another facility
