The Dispatcher reports to the Terminal Manager. The Dispatcher is the primary contact between our customers and the Company. The Dispatcher will support the Terminal Manager in overseeing operational functions to include logistics, scheduling of deliveries, data processing and customer service.
Qualifications and Prerequisites:
Effectively work in a dynamic team environment and have the flexibility to adapt to changes.
Experience or knowledge of delivery forecasting tools.
Reliable and punctual, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented, high-pressure work environment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Must be flexible with regard to scheduled hours.
Work week may exceed 40 hours per week.
Computer literate. Ability to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, and have experience with email. Knowledge of DM2 software preferred. PD, SAP, Oracle, or other accounting software experience helpful.
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Some college, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
Strong business, financial accounting knowledge and practices.
Must have 10-key abilities.
Demonstrates effective problem solving/analytical skills and pays attention to details.
General accounting knowledge and/or accounting background.
Well organized and manages time well.
Previous logistics and dispatch experience preferred.
Essential Dispatching Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in maximizing fuel, lubricants and/or chemical sales.
Assist in teaching and role modeling proper customer service.
Ensure the overall customer’s experience and service meets or exceeds established Company standards.
Plan and assign deliveries to maximize productivity and customer service.
Anticipate, identify, prioritize and resolve/eliminate problems through effective delivery planning and scheduling.
Forecast and project fueling needs/deliveries based on recent or prior sales, demands; and call the customer to place an order.
