We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager at our PMT site located in Metropolis, IL. Metropolis Works manufacturers a number of fluorine products including uranium hexafluoride (UF60 for nuclear fuel, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) for electric utilities, and iodine pentafluoride (IF5) and antimony Pentafluoride (SbF5) for stain and water resistance. About 80 percent of the plant’s work involved refining raw uranium ore into UF6. Metropolis is located at the southern tip of the State of Illinois on the Ohio River across from Paducah, Kentucky.
The HR Manager is a key member of the Site Leadership Team, and is responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources for PMT Metropolis. Incumbent will report to the Director, Human Resources – Integrated Supply Chain and has a matrix relationship to the Plant Manager.
The incumbent will be assigned a variety of tasks and responsibilities which may include:
Partner with site leadership to support business objectives by providing strategic HR leadership, develops and implements short/long term
Manage one (1) direct report
Develops and implements policies and procedures in accordance with corporate HR policies
Assess and develop site talent and drive change management to support implementation of business initiatives
Ensure positive employee and labor relations through strong relationships at all levels of the organization
Manage the relationship with the United Steelworkers’ Union and administer and comply with Collective Bargaining Agreement
Assure legal and regulatory compliance across the site
Counsels and coaches employees, supervisors, and the site leadership team in addressing interpersonal and performance issues
C o ordinates, schedules and/or administers training and development activities
Manages census in accordance with Annual Operating Plan
Directs all recruiting and placement of new employees, as well as apprentice training and promotions
Coordinates with legal counsel on employment issues, RIFs, litigation
Coordinates the annual salary plan and other compensation related activities
Coordinates and/or conducts an orientation program for new employees
Coordinates and monitors the total performance management process
Oversees the development and coordination of local employee relations events, activities and processes as appropriate
Minimum of 7 years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, Industrial/Labor Relations or related field of study
Minimum 3 years managerial experience
Minimum 2 years of organized labor and direct negotiating experience
2 years of leadership experience including direct supervision
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills required.
Strong coaching and leadership development skills
Strong time management skills are necessary

Demonstrated ability to facilitate organizational change, understand and foster the linkage between business operations objectives/initiatives, labor relations and HR activities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS software
