Exchange 2010, Lync 2010 and BES 5.0.x systems was what I was responsible for from the redesign of the messaging environment (E2K10, Lync 2K10, BES 5.0.x) to daily level 3 support. Successfully negotiated and installed the MetaLogix Archiving solution. Set up DAG’s across 3 physical sites. All servers installed under VMware 5 with a user base of about 3500 mailbox users, about 400 BlackBerry users, and less than 100 IOS devices. Other duties also included training other team members and helpdesk staff.

As an engineer of messaging services on a team of five, I was instrumental with the Hosted MS Exchange (HME) offering. Our total customer mailbox size was over 200K with mobile access (BES, ActiveSync). The servers where virtualized with MS HyperV. I was tasked with designing and implementing new collaborative messaging offerings, develop test plans and procedures. Building of new servers in the HyperV Lab (5 fully functional labs mirroring production). Migrating from HMC 4.5 to MS Exchange 2010 SP2 Multi-tenant, upgrading domain/servers from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.

Responsible for managing Messaging and Directory Services servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. Perform all tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements regarding migration and support from Microsoft Exchange 2007 to 2010, MS OCS to MS Lync and Active Directory based directory services availability and security; Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Active Directory server security through secure access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations. Manage Directory Services, Certificate Services, Microsoft FIM, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, Quest Tool Set, and Key Management Services. Recommend, schedule, and perform software patches, upgrades, and/or purchases. Ensure that Domain Controller server implementations comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines. Perform account management, addition, retrieval, and deletion according to best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance. Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve problems affecting messaging and directory services systems performance, efficiency, and availability. Sr. Mobile Messaging Engineer (IBM)

As a member of the IBM Mobile Enterprise Services team:
Primarily responsible for the Architecting and integration of wireless smartphone (BlackBerry, IPhone, Droid, etc.) solutions into new or existing infrastructure, including cost analysis and performing Level 3 support of the BlackBerry application. Working in environments with MS Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 and Lotus Domino. Monitoring environments with Concevium and Boxtone monitoring tools. Constant interaction with high level executives with solid written and oral communications skills. Development of documentation, FAQ's and Run books.
Ensure customer cases are managed to meet or exceed SLA commitments.
Document policies, procedures and issues in ticketing system as well as within the internal knowledge base system. Consistently analyzed and made recommendations to better assess, assist and meet the needs of external and internal clients. Lead other wireless, network, email, and system admins in resolving complex wireless messaging problems. Also lead them in the design and implementation of new, large scale, complex wireless messaging solutions, including high availability, scalable, and cloud computing solutions.

Primarily responsible for managing/administering an Exchange 2007 production environment for roughly 1250 end users spread across 60 global sites, about 15 systems designated specifically for various messaging functions. Responsibility includes, but not limited to, creating mail boxes, disabling mailboxes, activating Blackberry devices on BES, provisioning and troubleshooting device issues and overall Blackberry Enterprise Server Administration and troubleshooting Outlook issues. Also responsible for Journaling, troubleshooting message flow throughout the environment, 3rd level client support, helping to define archiving/storage/backup solutions related to messaging. Additionally, maintenance of the CCR (continuous cluster replication) environment.

Responsible for the Mobile Messaging infrastructure:
• Designing, testing, documenting, and maintaining a complex BlackBerry enterprise of over 22K mobile users.
• Implemented a POC on MS Exchange 2K7 for IPhone and MS Windows Mobile 6.1. Discovered a major bug in the MS Windows Mobile 6.1 product.
• Implemented BoxTone Monitoring for the BlackBerry environment.
