Production Specialist II

To whom it may concern,

My name is Joel Berger and I am very interested in pursuing a career in the field of CG animation and game design. In particular, I have an interest in environment design, particle systems and visual effects. For the past 2 years I have intently studied modeling and design within 3D Studio Max and have recently branched into using ZBrush as a digital sculpting medium. In addition, I have nearly 10 years of Photoshop experience and texture maps created in Photoshop are a critical part of my work.

For the last year I have spent a fair amount of time studying particle systems and their role in creating special effects, primarily their use in creating digital nature and environmental effects such as water, fire, smoke and sparks. I have an in depth understanding of the functions, limitations and ways to utilize the various options within the particle editor to achieve the effect I want, as well as manipulate materials in the material editor to complement the effects.

I also enjoy scene composition and modeling props along with other furnishings to decorate the scene. I have experience modeling objects from pictures and reference images used to enhance my scenes, and many of these can be seen on my website, www.joelrberger.com. All of my props have been UVW mapped by me. I am in the process of learning ZBrush and utilizing their UVW mapping properties for more detailed work.

Thank you very much for your time and kind consideration. Please look at my website for an online portfolio featuring still images and videos depicting my recent work. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,
Joel Berger
