Supervising a staff in the commercial department of an insurance agency, which currently has two locations. Analyze all new business, choose the market selection then assign to the account manager. The department manager works large accounts that may be assisted by an account manager who will be assigned the client after coverage has been bound. Negotiate contracts with brokers and or insurers to place coverage. Produce reports for production monthly for upper management. Visit current customers or prospective clients when necessary. Conduct weekly department meetings. Assist the financial department with coverage's that are not written by their carriers, such as commercial property, bonds or general liability. Work with both admitted and non-admitted carriers, which may be direct or agency billed. Assist in the everyday problems of the agency computer systems in regards to billing and application procedures.
Solicit for new clients using contacts from the building department, current clients or referrals.
2001 to 2002
Worked in the commercial renewal-marketing department for medium accounts. Duties included market selection, negotiation of coverage and premiums with insurers and brokers. Work with producers to place business with admitted and non-admitted carriers. Worked on accounts that have locations out of the State of Florida. Train and guide an assistant to become a marketing analyst. Worked on commercial packages, professional and general liability policies, commercial property policies, workers compensation policies, commercial auto policies, special events coverage and condo policies.
