My nursing duties include and have included : Perinatal Hepatitis B Coordinator-where I provide leadership for assigned programs; Case manager for all cases related to clinic. i.e., STD-Sexually transmitted Diseases, Hepatitis A,B,C, HIV, Abnormal results i.e., paps, lab results, mammograms, diagnostic tests, etc. I refer patients as needed, schedule and approve for appropriate procedures.I helped develop protocol and provided leadership in Colpo/Cryo clinic w/ all scheduling, assist w/ M.D. procedures, ordering equipment/medicines and all related case management duties. Initiated Abnormal pap and STD referral program..setting up meetings with the private GYN's and have worked closely with private M.D. offices that report STD's and receive Bay CHD referrals. Created Family Planning/STD audit tools; performed quarterly audits; when Supervisor position vacant have been assigned various duties-making schedules, monitoring leave requests, assure maximum utilization of clinic staff. Charge nurse prn; provide effective communication dealing with difficult clients and staff, have performed as clinic nurse-obtain assessments, patient histories, consents, counsel & educate as appropriate, pre-post HIV counseling for testing, epilepsy and diabetes medication disbursement, taught family planning class; triage clinical issues via phone; calculate and administer post rabies exposure medications with infiltration into the wound;  
 
STD Clinician (under State of Florida protocol and guidelines) performed STD physicals and obtain gonorrhea/chlamydia cultures, pap smears, viral cultures and treat HPV (genital warts) and disbursement of appropriate treatment for patients diagnosis. Reason not performing as STD Clinician - State hired 2 doctors and did not need me to perform any longer. 
 

 
I am the "main" immunization nurse where I determine vaccine schedules for all ages according to CDC guidelines and administer injections appropriately in a timely manner. Provide counseling & education to parents and adults r/t vaccines- required/recommended vaccines, international travel and side effects; have assisted with pharmacy inventory and receiving medications; provide leadership/representation/clinical duties for flu clinics and health fairs; provide interviews for local media via radio/television.
