I have worked for my husband's longtime service business, Solid Rock Upholstery & Interiors as a CSR answering business phone calls, talking with new customers and reassuring customers about pending jobs. I also handled the advertising for the business and other office duties.
2000 to 2004
Customer/Public Service - when national, state and local elections came around, I worked as part-time temporary public service position assisting early voters during the elections for the Harris County Clerk's Office, Elections Division for 4 years from 2000-2004.
Administrative Asst. - For two years I worked for Manpower Temporary service as a temporary secretary for bosses and lawyers typing and doing other office duties such as typing business correspondence, answering telephones and performing other office duties.
October 1997 to November 1999
Volunteer at Manna Social services organization, Manna,located in NW Houston that helps families in distress with help with utilities bills and food. My job was interviewing the clients for their individual needs.
In the late nineties I returned to the U of H, central campus to work on my BA degree completing 3 years of college with major in Social Sciences and minor in Bus. Administration with emphasis in management. Work experience in place of completion of college degree at this time. Spanish - I read language well, speak conversational Spanish, write it minimally.
Administrative Asst. - earlier in my career I worked for Houston Lighting & Power as an administrative asst. to technical writers in the Information Systems department for 4+ years. I typed their copy when they had completed their writing and editing of technical manuals used by the Light Company employees. Also fill-in secretary for head boss of our department when his secretary was out.
Word Processor - prior to the Light Company, I worked as word processor for Petroleum Infor-mation for a year and half. Petroleum Information published oil well data for oil businesses.
While attending college part-time, in earlier career, I worked for two retail stores - Montgomery Wards and McCrory's/Green store in DT Houston for 3 years.
