Duties
I joined this company on a temporary basis to help come up with a Marketing and Advertising
strategy for a trade show the company was attending later this year. It was decided that a
different approach was needed to try and differentiate the company from competitors. A
promotional video would be produced and edited, along with completely revised flyers to be
given out to potential customers. It was then my job to put this strategy in production, to a
deadline and make it succeed. I was in charge of the video production and took control of all
aspects from choosing the best angles to final video editing and exporting. The film was
produced on a full high definition video camera with its purpose to show the various
manufacturing processes they had to offer, and the very high standard they work too. The
video showcased the companies various manufacturing processes and the clips were then
edited into a promotional video using a Macintosh and exported to full HD (1080p) which was
then to be shown on two 37" TV screens on an exhibition stand. Again, I had sole
responsibility for the revamping of the existing company flyer material, which involved
producing a whole new page layout to better suit the companies profile. New images were
captured using a digital SLR camera and editing using Adobe Photoshop. This project had
strict deadlines which I made whilst involving many senior managers for feedback to ensure
everyone was happy with the new designs and wording. The flyer literature increased from 5 to 14 flyers, which now shows a better range of the production services the company have to offer. In addition to the flyers, I also had to design a folder to hold all 14 flyers which can be
given out to potential clients. Finally, I completed a slideshow to be presented on the TV's from all the Images taken for the flyers. I then edited them in Photoshop with the language
translated into German, French and Russian to aid people at the Berlin trade show.
