Essential Duties & Responsibility:|
Serve as editor-in-chief of company's annual sustainability report
Manage sustainability section of saralee.com
Liaison with field and business operations to gather, share information
Lead process for key sustainability rankings and awards (e.g.: Dow Jones Sustainability Index)
Develop and execute proactive sustainability media relations plan
Partner with internal communications team to ensure sustainability messaging reaches all employees
Online communications and social media
Manage and create content for corporate social media programs via Facebook and Twitter
Manage and create content for saralee.com
Partner with investor relations, HR, legal and brand teams to ensure all content on saralee.com is up-to-date
Publish news daily for company intranet
Draft and distribute corporate news releases for activities such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, executive appointments, dividend declarations, webcast announcements, facility
announcements, sustainability initiatives, community involvement, etc.
Conduct media interviews with senior management including media preparation and training
Create and execute external communications plans for key executives
Partner with IR to finalize and distribute corporate quarterly earnings announcements
Partner with internal communications team with corporate announcements
Spearhead issues management with plants
Maintain and update crisis communications plan
Create and manage executive bios and headshots
Create and update issues document for Annual Meeting of Stockholders
Monitor and act as corporate final approver for company logo usage
Experienced external communications professional
5-6 years of strong medial relations, integrated planning, and development strategy experience
