Birch Hill Catering in Schodack NY (schodack is 14 miles southeast of Albany ) is looking to add to our team with talented, creative, honest, cheerful, and reliable people. We are in the Hospitality Industry and to us that means helping our guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Birch Hill is a full service, fully licensed, Banquet, Corporate BBQ and off Premise caterer. The operation is open year round specializing in weddings, receptions, and Out door, off premise functions. The property consists of 2 Indoor ballrooms ( 650 and 275 seats) , Plus our second property has a Ballroom for up to 200 and a Historic old Barn , 3 Stationary open air pavilions with kitchen facilities servicing up to 1,200, 900, and 300 at each pavilion .plus 70 Acres of open and wooded landscaped areas with softball fields, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, nature trails and open fields. Many additional sites available for Tented functions.
Job Summary: The Chefs primary responsibility is to maintain quality staffing, training and food production through effective standards and controls
which relate to the overall profitability of the business? He/She must be able to perform numerous functions simultaneously and maintain an upscale quality presentation with all. Presentation of the foods and displays are very important as we have many buffets , cocktail events, and served dinners for a typical sized groups of apx 175 + - guests where we look to exceed their expectations. Taste is also a very important criteria and the chef needs to have an experienced palate.
