Job Function Summary

  • The Firm is looking to recruit a Global Human Resources Director with a strong generalist and business partner background in Human Resources to support the firm on a variety of levels. This role will be based in Old Greenwich, CT with responsibility for a population of approximately 250 employees spanning the US, UK, China, India, Russia, Israel, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore.
  • /Onboarding

- Responsible for coordination across the firm including defining / enhancing recruitment policies and end-to-end processes, ensuring critical business and regional needs are met (actual recruitment handled by a different internal team)
- Proactively maintain and advise managers on list of high risk and relationship firms
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recruiting challenges and trends, labor laws, and legislative initiatives that may have implications on the organization

  • Compensation

- Stay up-to-date on market compensation for comparable roles and conduct annual analysis

  • Special Projects

- Advise on best practices and manage HR related aspects of opening new offices around the world
- Lead or work on HR projects with a local and/or global impact as needed

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience; In depth knowledge of Human Resources across multiple functions; Experience with international human resources a plus
  • Knowledge of local and regional employment laws
  • Financial Services experience desired (ideally hedge fund, alternative asset, or investment banking)
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills
  • Good sense of judgment and decision making
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with Excel
  • Ability to multi-task as well as meet short deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Thoroughness and strong ownership of work
  • Good communicator with the ability to effectively communicate up, down and across levels of the organization
  • Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; Good sense of urgency

Global Human Resources Director

Primary Responsibilities

  • HR Services

- Provide leadership and guidance to the business for HR Services related approvals, issues, and exceptions
- Interpretation and administration of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Stay abreast of current benefits trends in the industry in US and non-US locations and ensure our benefits program remains competitive

  • Employee Relations

- Maintain a good working knowledge of legal employment issues and employment practices in both US and non-US locations
- Proactively design, evaluate and modify employee relations and exit management policies and processes to ensure they are current and in compliance with legal requirements in both US and non-US locations
- Partner with the business to plan and coordinate employee exits
- Conduct investigations of employee issues and grievances and develop and recommend solutions to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken
- Coach managers and members of senior management on variety of issues including but not limited to employee morale, organizational structure, employee retention, and general employee management

  • Mobility Services

- Develop, implement and manage the organization’s global policies and procedures associated with international assignments, relocation, expatriates, and immigration services
- Provide recommendations for global administration of relocation services, including immigration, tax services and tax equalization and assignee documentation
- Advise on the design of specific relocation and expatriate packages to meet business needs while ensuring adherence to policies and local regulations
- Monitor and track Mobility Services globally and maintain a global view on services provided
- Maintain current knowledge on global mobility trends
- Serve as the escalation point for mobility services related approvals, issues, and exceptions
