Position: Hotel Sales Manager
Reports to: Hunter+Harp Hospitality, Director of Sales & Marketing

JOB SUMMARY: Hotel Duval Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales activities of the hotel. Provides leadership in the strategy development of a comprehensive integrated sales program to fulfill the mission and long–term strategic plan of the property. The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of revenue generation at the property to include direct sales, room sales, and assisting the Director of Revenue with forecasting. In addition, this position is required to provide continued enhancement of the property culture in accordance with property standards. Maintain effective relationships with all associates throughout the property in order to provide a strong, supportive and objective environment. Coach, mentor, cultivate and motivate Group Services Coordinator and Preferred Client Manager to effectively promote Teamwork and optimize profit for the hotel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain emphasis on group sales and business transient budget and established guidelines.

Responsible for leading the rooms sales department including proactively soliciting business for the hotel, account management, finalizing contracts for group bookings, actively seeking new clients for hotel and maintaining positive relationships with existing clients to generate repeat business.

Continually target new accounts for business through proactive solicitation efforts and individual creativity.

Coordinate sales activities with other work units or departments.

Prepare and submit sales and marketing plan, budgets, progress reports and annual sales reports.

Ensure that deployment of plans will effectively transmit and achieve required goals.

Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.

Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth.

Develop goals and objectives, projects and priorities and assign them to Group Services Coordinator.

Work in conjunction with Preferred Client Manager to maximize business transient/LNR sales plan and cultivate preferred client relationships.

Develop and conduct sales campaigns, blitzes and promotional plans. Assist Revenue Team in the development, maintenance and implementation of creative packages and rate strategies to fill identified need periods in all markets.

Maximizing revenue opportunities by maintaining great customer relationships and penetrating existing accounts in specific market segments.

Conducting site inspections for prospective customers.

Soliciting for and responding to RFPs; Preparing and presenting effective proposals to close business.

Maintaining community relationships to promote hotels and drive sales. Analyze market and sales trends and adjust sales strategies to maintain and increase revenue and market share through added business volume and increased rate.

Develop sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses

Provide leadership in the development of affiliations and partnerships

REQUIREMENTS:

 A university degree or college diploma in business administration, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising or a related field is required
 Minimum of three years of preferably full service, hotel sales experience required
 Previous supervisory or management experience in sales, marketing, public relations and/or the tourism industry a plus
 Knowledge of the product and competitive environment is required
 Proof of previous sales success
