The Center for Health Affairs is looking for an individual with a strong database administration background along with basic Programing abilities. The ideal candidate will work with Microsoft SQL database/BI software, be able to create and edit SRS reports, write SQL script for complex data queries, create, maintain and update data Cubes, Create and edit SQL Views and link data into various programs such as Access, Excel, and other data mediums. The candidate should be familiar with ETL and DTS models, computer/software programing concepts, and medium to advanced understanding and use of SQL script, Visual Basic for Office macros, Visual Basic 6 and .NET, Jscript, C# and HTML.

Summary:

Designs, enhances, and maintains SQL programs. Programs, administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.

Specific Accountabilities:

o Develop next level software with SQL database integration to all other platforms.

o Make recommendations with respect to hardware (servers, storage area networks, clustering) and software.

o Work on the consolidation of a number of databases to SQL 2012.

o Write data extract programs using VB6/VB.net/SQL DTS to automate distribution of data analysis.

o Monitor day to day transaction exceptions and correct problems.

o Provide reports/data files/etc. as required to all departments in the company.

o Other assignments as needed.

Training and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree plus related work experience in computer programming or equivalent combination or training and experience;

2. Prior experience in data systems or in systems programming.
