This position is responsible for managing and directing engineering projects which requires the formulation and implementation of complete and coherent project plans and coordination with functional departments and RCW customers, and utilizing project management tools and the Value Based Product Development process.
This position manages and ensures the timely completion of specific, defined multi-discipline technical or engineering programs or projects. Oversees the project timeline by planning, tracking and executing the project plans from start to completion. Recommends changes to improve the engineering process and to alleviate process inaccuracy and duplication. Projects will include Inventor implementation, new product development and process improvement.
The major responsibilities are as follow:
Directs, coordinates and standardizes world class drawing tools to increase efficiency, reduce possibility of errors, and promote innovative designs and engineering processes for the most effective and economical implementation schedules for the product development projects.
Own and implement Value Based Product Development processes.
Coordinate value engineering/cost reduction programs through engineering.
Develops, implements and evaluates policies and procedures pertaining to a particular engineering unit product line.
Directs team in performing engineering and technical functions.
Provides technical advice, direction and decision.
Exercises liaison with other departments to provide technical data and information to assure an efficient organization.
Utilize concurrent engineering practices in design, development and qualification of new products.
Participate in design reviews and act as a gate keeper in the Value Based Product Development process.
Coordinate and participate in the Voice of the Customer events.
Participate in Trade Organizations such as Hydraulic Institute, Euro pump, AWWA, WEFTEC, etc. to promote R&CW initiatives and identify new technology and design concepts.
Manages project or a project segment which requires complete and coherent project plans to insure meeting project timelines and deliverables. Establishes major milestones such as preliminary reviews, resource requirements, critical reviews ad other schedule goals. Establishes and implements project plans in compliance with specifications, performance requirements, costs and schedules. The person in this role will also be responsible for meeting all assigned objectives of the project.
Monitors all project activities to ensure compliance with product specifications, performance requirements, schedules and cost commitments. Identified existing or potential problems in terms of schedule and budget, etc. and works with affected departments and or the customer in resolving or avoiding them.
Responsible for reporting to more senior management, as appropriate, all significant development with regard to project performance costs and customer views. Provides status reports as specified and required.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years technical experience in the development of products in an industrial setting along with a minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
2 years minimum experience utilizing Autodesk Inventor 3D Software, including Frame Generator & Routed Systems to create 3D models/assemblies, dimensioned drawing and Bill of Materials
Experience:
Implementing/configuring Autodesk Inventor 3D Software
Creating iFeatures, iParts & iAssemblies
Implementing Autodesk Vault Collaboration data management software
Defining/creating style and standards Library
Requires extensive knowledge of project planning and control methods and procedures. Prefer previous Microsoft Project experience. Familiarity with and good working knowledge of pumps, controls, valves, and/or water treatment equipment and associated manufacturing activities.
