Reporting to the Patient Care Services Vice President, the Director for the Maternal Child Division at Saint Barnabas Medical Center is responsible for overseeing a division consisting of a Level III Regional Perinatal Center, the highest level possible. The 56-bed NICU offers the latest treatments and modalities in the field to provide the most advanced care for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns each year; The Department of Pediatrics at Saint Barnabas offering the expertise of a specialized team of physicians, including, neonatologists, pediatric critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, child life coordinators, social workers and all other health care professionals dedicated to the well-being of the patients we serve.
A new state-of-the-art $8 million McMullen Children’s Center, a “hospital within a hospital” designed to meet the medical and emotional needs of young patients. Pediatric inpatient services, including a 10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, are centralized within one area of the Medical Center. The Children’s Center offers the latest technologies, child-friendly patient rooms and a cheerfully-decorated playroom, family friendly lounges and lobbies, a parent overnight room, sibling play areas and access to the finest pediatric care available
