You've just found Exelon, a place where you can truly shine.Business Unit Overview Business Services provides Exelon and its subsidiaries with financial, human resource, legal, information technology, supply management and corporate governance services.Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Senior Analyst, Regulated Utility (ComEd, PECO or BGE) will assist with the preparation, recording and reporting of federal and states taxes in the quarterly and annual financial statements for the regulated utilities. In addition, the position will be responsible for the preparation of the federal and separate company state tax and non-income tax returns compliance filings for the regulated utilities. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Calculate Exelon¿s regulated utility tax expense, reconcile tax account balances, prepare tax basis balance sheet adjustments, prepare FIN 48 and FAS 109 supporting workpapers, schedules and calculations, including valuation allowances, and execution of all related SOX controls - Prepare workpapers, schedules, calculations and other items related to the regulated utility tax return filings, estimated tax payments, extension payments and tax sharing settlements - Support IRS and state exam processes, administration and drafting of responses to tax notices and preparation and filing of amended federal tax returns - Support information gathering and tax calculations for rate cases - Prepare workpapers and calculations supporting the tax portions of the latest estimates and long range plans - Assist with implementation of changes in tax laws, process improvements, planning opportunities, and other ad hoc projects - Assist with technical research supporting tax positions taken in tax filings, including drafting of written memorandums POSITION SPECIFICATIONS - Calculate Exelon¿s regulated utility tax expense, reconcile tax account balances, prepare tax basis balance sheet adjustments, prepare FIN 48 and FAS 109 supporting workpapers, schedules and calculations, including valuation allowances, and execution of all related SOX controls - Prepare workpapers, schedules, calculations and other items related to the regulated utility tax return filings, estimated tax payments, extension payments and tax sharing settlements - Support IRS and state exam processes, administration and drafting of responses to tax notices and preparation and filing of amended federal tax returns - Support information gathering and tax calculations for rate cases - Prepare workpapers and calculations supporting the tax portions of the latest estimates and long range plans - Assist with implementation of changes in tax laws, process improvements, planning opportunities, and other ad hoc projects - Assist with technical research supporting tax positions taken in tax filings, including drafting of written memorandums POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: - Undergraduate Accounting or other financial discipline - At least 5 years related experience including at least 3 years of professional tax experience focusing on large publicly traded corporations, including a combination of industry and public accounting experience - Good working knowledge of all major areas of federal and state tax law effecting Exelon - Appreciation of the impact of taxes on the financial statements - Proficient analytical ability to resolve complex, technical issues; recognizes the need for and seeks out internal subject matter expertise, as well as external subject matter expertise, when necessary - Good research, writing and communication skills - 40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required of all professionals in the Department (at the Company¿s expense) Preferred: - Energy industry experience is desirable, though not at the expense of a broad base of experience - Certified Public Accountant or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (MST)Equal Employment Statement Exelon is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.*CB Click to Apply For This Job
