This position is responsible for using problem solving skills, creativity and ingenuity to create color palettes for new products and make updates to existing products. Color work requires the ability to see color as well as an innate sense of balance and design to assure highly applicable, informed decisions when approving product samples and production runs. This position also researches and analyzes trends and compiles information for use by the Sales force.
Responsibilities:
Creates color palettes for new products and updates older products based on sales history and current color/design trend influences.
Creates mock boards of color samples for approval prior to production of actual samples of product.
Approves production runs for sample material at various dye houses. Relays approved or rejected colors to sample coordinator.
Using Excel, sets up new products including color and style naming, rack sequences and card layouts.
Conducts trend research and analysis, and creates color and design trend boards and power point presentation for use at dealer conferences, color / design workshops, etc.
Fields calls for color comparisons and compiles sales information from Diver for sales force.
Other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
1-2 years of college coursework in Color Theory, Textiles, 2/D Design, or Fashion Design. Associates Degree preferred.
Experience using Excel, Word, and Power Point are required.
Two years experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge.
Ability the see color with an innate sense of balance and design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong decision making and collaboration skills. Ability to exercise good judgment, problem solving ability, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures
Must possess an affinity for creativity and ingenuity
Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Ability to effectively manage time, reach decision-makers, and quickly determine opportunity potential
