Network Engineer III |
This position reports to the IT Operations Manager
The Network Engineer III is responsible for the day-to-day installation, administration, and operation of the local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, telecommunication systems, and other data communication systems. This position will participate in the on-call rotation for the network engineering ream and will serve as a second or third tier escalation resource for tier one and tier two support technicians and administrators.
Should have 5 - 8 year experience in enterprise, ISP, and/or data center network administration/engineering with increasing levels of complexity and responsibility including:
Cisco Catalyst 6500, 3750, 4500 router platforms
Cisco Nexus 7010, 5k and 2k routing and switching
Cisco ASR9K routers and ME3400 switches
Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controller
Cisco ASA 55K, ACS, RSA appliances
OSPF/EIGRP/ISIS/BGP routing protocols
Redundant and fault-tolerant LAN / WAN switching design and deployment
IPv4/IPv6 VRF context topology
Data Center design and deployment
3-layer, high-availability designs
Integration / Upgrade experience
Demonstrated experience designing, building, or operating a large network (2000+ active link interfaces).
Bachelor degree in related field or equivilent work experience
CCNA minimum, CCNP or higher preferred
5 - 8 years experience working with network management and troubleshooting tools
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair network problems (including working with vendors, TAC, etc).
Other skills (preferred but not required):
Scripting (perl/php/bash) or light programming skills
3-5 years linux user and admin knowledge
3-5 years VOIP server configuration and management
