Position Summary
A Social Game Developer reports to a senior engineer. Your primary responsibilities are helping design and developing features as determined with senior developers and providing programming expertise across titles. These responsibilities include coordinating with design and art to develop features, helping create technical designs and programming core game and UI mechanics. High-level communication and listening skills will be key to collaborating within and across teams.

We are looking for candidates that have recently focused on social game development in Flash/AS 3.0, PHP/Java, C++/C# or mobile development. You must understand best practices and debugging at a high level, and enjoy taking a project from design to release. We also appreciate skills within and outside your chosen discipline, and look for people to share in the fun we have collectively bringing new concepts to life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide programming and technical expertise in planning and development.
• Develop primary features and systems.
• Collaborate with design and art to develop UI and animation features.
• Work with test and use self-testing to minimize and fix issues.
• Work across disciplines to improve pipelines and processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• 3+ years experience developing games with two shipped games preferred.
• 2+ years development with Flash/AS 3.0, C++/C#/Obj-C or Java/PHP.
• Ability to foresee and communicate issues during development.
• Exceptional diagnostic and debugging skills, with QA collaboration.
• Experience with network game design and development.
• Experience and desire to work very closely with designers and artists.
• Ability to maintain a fun and collaborative atmosphere throughout.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• BA or BS in Computer Science, or similar
• Experience with one or more of:
- Facebook or similar development and deployment.
- Xcode/iOS or similar mobile development and deployment.
- Flash/AS 3.0 development in a social or mobile environment.
- Large scale web game/backend development and deployment.
- Unity or similar game engine development.
• Experience with cross-platform development.
• Experience with Amazon AWS or similar service deployments.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL development.
• Experience with JIRA or similar management software.
• Varied hobbies, activities and talents.
• A natural ability to have fun with whatever you do.
