Instructor (Regular Non-Tenure Track)
Department of Psychology
College of Liberal Arts

Primary Responsibilities

Teach 30 hours of undergraduate courses (15 hours/5 courses per semester) in psychology primarily at the Sikeston, Malden, Kennett and/or Perryville regional campuses or other satellite locations

Teach a variety of courses across the curriculum in the psychology major at Southeast. Specific course expectations include: Introduction to Psychology; Research Design and Analysis I; and Psychological Development Across the Lifespan

Assist students and maintain a schedule of office hours

Advise students about course and program information in the psychology major and minor

Attend meetings as required by the Department of Psychology and/or the School of Extended Learning

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Psychology with experimental research emphasis. Ph.D. or ABD (with Ph.D. by August 2011) applicants satisfying this requirement are encouraged to apply (Degree must be from a regionally accredited university)

Demonstrated ability to teach assigned courses

Ability to teach ITV and online courses

Demonstrated strong communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community

Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of the issues affecting women and minorities
