Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Director of Music Education (Assistant Professor), to become a part of our team to continue our quest toward becoming a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. As Director of Music Education:

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Music Education Program at BSU
  • Chair the Music Education Committee; serve as the liaison to the College of Education
  • Teach courses in undergraduate and graduate music education according to individual expertise and curricular need
  • Direct culminating projects in graduate music education
  • Develop supportive relationships with music educators in the State of Idaho
  • Carry out additional faculty responsibilities in the Department, College, and University as assigned by the Department Chair

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Doctoral Degree
  • No less than 3 years successful teaching (K-12) and strong commitment to music education at the public school level required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Provide significant leadership in Music Education both regionally and nationally
  • Promote graduate music education research as it relates to improving results in the classroom
