an opening for a highly motivated, self-directed, experienced Mechanical
Technologist Leader in the Louisiana Operations Maintenance Department in Plaquemine,
The overall purpose of this
role is to leverage mechanical equipment expertise throughout the Facilities at
Louisiana Operations of the Dow Chemical Company. This role exists to provide
technical knowledge and skill in the, maintenance of mechanical equipment
throughout the Facilities. This successful candidate will provide mechanical
technical support to Maintenance and Operations personnel, involved in the
creation and maintenance of global specifications and standards, outage scope
development and the repair of most types of mechanical equipment including gas
and steam turbines. The Mechanical Technologist Leader must leverage knowledge of mechanical
equipment and systems and applicable codes and standards to ensure the most
effective technology in compliance with Dow Safety and Loss Prevention
principles, industry standards and local codes.

Diploma or GED is required.
Associates degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Mechanical Technology or related field is preferred.
3 - 5 years of experience as a
Journeyman Millwright, Machinist or heavy industrial machinery repair &
replacement is required.
5 years of Maintenance and
Operations experience is preferred.
This person will work a
"4-10" work week: 10 hours a day work schedule Mon - Thu OR a 9-80
schedule (9 hours a day and every other Friday off) with extended work hours
Some night or weekend work
will be necessary depending upon plant needs.
Individual must be physically
able to work in the field including but not limited to climbing ladders,
scaffold, stairs and lifting
(Not to exceed 50 lbs.)
Individual must possess a certain degree of manual dexterity.
A minimum amount of travel for
training or equipment support is required.
Must have strong written and
verbal communication skills.
This position will interact
with all levels of employees, disciplines, and functions in daily activities.
Must be proficient with
Microsoft applications and computerized programs for job and reporting
requirements (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
Must be proficient with
mechanical test and repair equipment (i.e. alignment tools, dial indicators,

phases of mechanical equipment repair and replacement
A valid drivers license is
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the
