Position is responsible for the operation of the Library Circulation and Information Desks, and the processing of OhioLINK materials. Position will: offer courteous and professional service to all library patrons; understand library policy and practice; aid in the circulation of library materials; have a working knowledge of library resources; help patrons locate needed information; instruct patrons in the use of library resources; properly refer patrons as necessary, both within the library, and to services offered elsewhere on campus.
This position has a high level of responsibility in that it insures that the library is opened as scheduled and that job duties are carried out with little direct supervision. Due to the dynamic nature of the library environment assignments vary depending on operational needs.
3 courses in library practices or procedures or 3 months library experience.
100 hours in training in the use of computers or 1 month equivalent experience.
3 courses in supervision or 3 months experience.
