Job Description: The Desk Officer II is responsible for the preparation, execution, and final wrap-up of TDY missions. Duties include, but are not limited to: planning technical and administrative aspects of TDY’s, daily management and oversight for the training and technical staff preparation, coordinating logistics, staging and testing equipment and preparing pre- and post-trip documentation. While in a TDY status, the Field Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for the team with the host nation technical personnel. The Field Manager will manage/coordinate the execution of the approved deployment/installation plan to include oversight of all team personnel. The Field Manager will provide day-to-day management of all technical tasking and set the schedule for the day’s events. Position requires travel to international locations up to 50% annually. While not on TDY, the Field Manager will participate in engineering and development activities to assist with product and process improvement.
Minimum of 12 years of overall experience
Minimum of 3 years supporting the SAR customer, either as a contractor or as a government employee, to include a combination of TDY and CONUS support
Demonstrated understanding of implementing, troubleshooting, and/or engineering LAN/WAN environments, Linux or Unix based server systems
Prior experience reviewing and drafting customer correspondence
Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building skills
Candidates must be available to travel internationally to all locations as needed to meet mission requirements, but will be expected to travel up to 50% annually
Desired Skills: Ideal candidate will be familiar with Oracle database systems and will have had prior experience as a Technical Operations Officer or equivalent field-based technical work experience. The ideal candidate will have both a technical and a management background and will be experienced at managing complex teams, both CONUS and in the field.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Location: This full-time position is located in Northern, Virginia. Position requires travel to international locations up to 50% annually.
Clearance: Positions require a TS/SCI with appropriate Poly.
