Cargill Dressings, Sauces & Oils refines vegetable and tropical oils and animal fat for a wide range of food and nonfood manufacturers. We also make shortenings, frying oils, mayonnaise, dressings, and sauces for the foodservice industry. The business operates eight oil refineries, six shortening and oil packaging plants, a mayonnaise production facility, a dressings plant and a culinary sauce facility, all of which are located in the United States. We also operate an edible oil refinery in Mexico. Customers include major food manufacturers and quick-service and casual-dining restaurant chains. Dressings Sauces & Oils is integrated with Cargill's soybean crushing activities, which provide a reliable source of crude soybean oil for further processing.

Position Overview:
Manage daily safety, food safety, environmental, quality, operations, employee engagement, maintenance and reliability management in Foodservice Oils (FSO) department with little direction or follow-up from the FSO Superintendent. This is a highly dynamic environment driven by customer satisfaction and financial results. Gain experience in management activities and development of strategic actions to achieve midterm (0 - 6 month) goals. Must participate directly, or indirectly, in HR training and supervisory review of employee' performance and record keeping.

Principal Accountabilities:
30% Develop near term strategic and tactical action plans related to the operation activities of the plant, process engineering or project engineering based on 0 - 6 month plans. Be effective in troubleshooting and training operators to improve production practices and resolve operational issues. Driving safety, OEE, operator care, resource planning

25% Supervise employees (direct supervision by production supervisor, indirect supervision by COE or process engineer) in the assigned area, including performance reviews, training and development activities, and other miscellaneous HR activities; including hiring, payroll, etc.

20% Investigate, design, write and complete small and medium-sized capital and expense jobs (typically less than $500,000)

15% Assist other supervisors in troubleshooting, problem solving and optimization activities outside the assigned area - including other parts of the plant (Dressing, Sauces, Mayo; Industrial; and/or Crush activities)

10% Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned


Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related technical field (science, industrial management, etc.)

Minimum 3+ years leadership experience in a high volume, food manufacturing/process environment

Prior experience directly managing teams of 10+ direct reports

Demonstrated success with leading and developing high performance work teams in a continuous improvement environment

Flexibility regarding work schedule to include rotating shifts and/or weekends

Demonstrated high sense of safety and quality principles

Bachelors degree in chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering

Experience leading in a foodservice oils or sauces production facility

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

Lean and Six Sigma experience

Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining statistical measures and analysis

Prior experience in leading continual improvement activities in an operations setting

Demonstrated experience of challenging status quo and driving/leading positive changes within an organization
