Under immediate supervision, provides a variety of services to families, children and adults in various social services in Child Protective Services (CPS). Provides case management assistance to case managers; provides case management assistance to participants involved in CPS; escorts and transports children and adults to and from their homes, foster homes, institutions and various medical, dental, psychological, education, counseling, employment or recreational resources; provides clerical support as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): KNOWLEDGE of: community, private or public organizations providing social or other helping services to families, children or adults who are disadvantage or are in need of such services; casework record maintenance procedures. SKILL in: interpersonal relations as applied to interactions with children, adults and families in the client group; oral and written communication. ABILITY to: plan work routines and implement work assignments; interpret and apply eligibility criteria; collect, maintain and process a variety of financial data efficiently.
PREFERRED/IDEAL CANDIDATE: Will possess two years of college or university training with a minimum of 21 semester hours in child development, rehabilitation, social services, counseling, psychology, sociology or other closely related field from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will also possess computer experience, which includes Windows applications.
NOTE: Applicants for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry. Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card.
Additional job requirements for employment are: A valid Arizona Driver's license, valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Employees may be required to use their own transportation; however, travel expenses will be reimbursed.
