This position is responsible for achieving maximum profitable sales volume, executing merchandising objectives, achieving headquarter authorization and promotional activities for the Confection portfolio within Supervalu, Nash Finch and the Midwest region. The Account Manager is responsible for developing profitable growth and effective customer relationships at all levels within the customer. Activities will include working closely with internal and external business partners to optimize customer strategies through outstanding merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving.
Execute national and account specific programs designed to achieve profitable sales volume, optimal distribution and competitive retail pricing. Secure maximum display, merchandising and advertising support while securing "Excellence In Availability" plan-o-grams and schematics.
Management of third-party sales broker.
Have a command of the latest trends and innovations in consumer package goods solutions and strive to be the "category leader" in all assigned US segments.
Provide accurate and timely volume forecast within Demantra for all assigned segments.
Analyze the customer’s business in relation to the market, category and Chocolate US business to develop tactical sales plans to achieve the customer’s and Mars Chocolate’s growth and profit objectives.
Evaluate all customer and consumer promotions to ensure profitable trade spend and recommend changes to ensure efficient and effective trade programs.
Develop in-depth presentations to ensure the achievement of the customer’s and Mars Chocolate’s business objectives.
Identify and analyze business trends utilizing syndicated data, account profitability and category information. Implement action plans to capitalize on the business opportunities for the customer and Mars Chocolate.
Be accountable for all customer budgets and ensure all budgets are managed within Mars Chocolate policies and budgetary requirements. Immediately identify any deviations and take corrective action.
Travel to assigned account’s regional divisions to work closely with key regional contacts to develop everyday and seasonal business plans and identify opportunities for mutual business growth and profitability.

3+ years of account management experience, preferably in the CPG industry.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Successful completion of a drug and background screen.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
4+ years of account management experience, preferably in the CPG industry.
